We Just Could Not Do It- Day 56

We caved and went out to the house.....about 3 times.  We just couldn't stay away.
Here are our most recent snapshots of progress.  I'm getting excited!

There are so many pics of the kitchen because this is one of the two rooms we splurged on (the master bathroom being the other).  The kitchen really is the only room I care about in the whole house.

One downer with the kitchen though....almost all of my cabinet doors are hung crookedly.  I know my PM will handle this without me even bringing it up! :-)
UPDATE: PM told me that the hanging of the cabinets was the first hanging. They will be out to hang again/correct before closing.

I was trying to get a good picture of the granite.  It's the level 2 granite I splurged on- Giallo Napoleon.  I think I love it.  I really need to see the flooring with it in order to pass a final verdict.  Good workmanship, I think.

I had requested at the pre-construction meeting that the backsplash NOT be installed.  I simply hate these, and wanted to install a subway-tiled glass backsplash from the counter up to under the cabinets.  I think I'll leave them alone, as my husband, who went out while they were being installed, said that there would be a gap between the cabinets and wall if I opted to leave this off (the granite guy told him this).  Oh well.

Okay, NO MORE PEEKING until the pre-settlement walkthrough!  I promise.

  1. I didn't know how on earth ya'll were going to go a month until you saw the house! I would have totally caved! Shoot, I cave when I say I'm not going to go over the weekend and by Sunday afternoon I'm itching to go!!! Everything looks great - love your cabinets and granite.

  2. Thanks LuLu. I would go everyday if it were up to me-lol! I'm just ready for this WHOLE process to be over with. I absolutely hate moving and hope this will be the last time. I can't wait to see what your Rome looks like. We wanted a Rome, but it's just the two of us, and I couldn't justify the need for all of that space, but it is is my favorite, after the Torino.

  3. Your house looks great! We've been stopping by our house religiously until they started locking the doors. We're on the same time frame for completion but it looks like different items completed. Just under 3 weeks left, looking forward to seeing everything completed!!!
