Rug Love

I'm making a little more progress.  I finally found a rug that I'm happy with for the morning room.  It took so long to find one!  But of course, it's slightly too large for the room, I think (just like everything else in the room!-lol!).
It's hard to believe it's been a month this weekend since we closed/moved in.  I look around and see so much to still be done! I'll be sewing up a storm this weekend.  I'm finishing up my curtains.  I'm sure my neighbors will be grateful.

My table decor for the holidays!

New lighting and the beginnings if drapes.

Rome Wasn't Built in a Day

This message keeps resonating in my mind as I attempt to get my new home in order and decorated.  My realtor said this to me during our final walk-through.  I have to keep reminding myself of this as I shop and decorate.  I wanna buy everything I see, NOW!  I told myself I'd do one room at a time.  That is not holding to be true.  I am scattered every which-a-way in my shopping/decorating decisions.  The more I do this, the more I realize this is gonna be a looooong process.

I have managed to kinda pull one room together.  Kinda.  The morning room was the one room I did the most prepping for during the building process.  I purchased a behemoth of a table (now realizing it is kinda too big for the room) that I absolutely fell in love with.  Problem was, we had no chairs.  And the chairs we liked were +$400.  We would need 8.  Not gonna happen.  So, I went the shabby-chic way....mismatched chairs!  What do you think?  And, yes, I know, there is a lot of furniture in this room.  But I don't care. I love everything in it.  Sorry if I double post some of the pics.  I'm too tired to go through and figure out which ones I did.

I am in the process of sewing drapes for this room.  A rug and other decor will be added shortly.  I'll post more later.

Closing, Packing, Moving, and Cleaning

We're in! Phew!  That's about all I can say. We have hardly anything in the house. We're waiting on the movers to come and some furniture pieces to be delivered today and tomorrow.
The closing process went seamlessly. I mean seriously, it was actually a lot of fun!  Our NVR broker (I guess that's what you call them) was so much fun, and our realtor and her husband came, it was really a good time.  We just needed a some adult beverages and we would have had ourselves a Happy Hour!-lol!
We decided to spend the night at the house. On an air mattress. After packing and lifting boxes for 6 hours. After a week of packing and lifting boxes. Kind of a bad idea.  BUT, we figured that we paid all of this money for this house, we were NOT gonna spend another night in our crappy apartment. We are gonna get our money's worth from this house!
So, this is my current situation....

Pre-Settlement Walkthrough...Day 80

Everything went smoothly. We love our PMs!  Yup, 2 of them. We were fortunate enough to have had a PM and his trainee build our home. The trainee was responsible for most of the process and is being promoted after our house! Both were equally knowledgable, professional, and outstanding. We could not have been happier with them!  Truly, they were the shining stars of this whole process, and they delivered a beautiful product.  I wish everyone within the company provided customers that level of service (more on that at a later time).
So, hopefully we will close on Friday. I say hopefully because the appraisal paperwork is still processing.....grrrrr (more on that later too).
I took no pictures, lol! -me, no pictures- but everything was more than in order.
I'll post pics on Friday, hopefully....
A little comic relief:

In the Homestretch....Day 76

Only 6 more days (hopefully).   It just depends on if the late VA appraisal (took place sometime last week, without us or Ryan Homes knowing) can be processed in time for Friday.  If not, we'll be pushed back 1 or 2 business days.  I'm trying to stay positive and believing for the best!

I'm counting down the minutes.  We are so ready.

Anyway, here are some pics (a lot of pics- sorry).  I know I've taken a lot of my kitchen, but goodness, I think it is just so beautiful (thank you hubby for letting me spend whatever I wanted in this room!) I can't keep from staring at it every time I visit.
I am really impressed, overall, with everything!
Those boots were made for walking'.....just not in my house, on my new floors!  Thank you trades for being professional!
Trees.
Tree 2.

I am in love with this stone!
BOOOOOO for utilities in your yard!!!
A big, beautiful, glorious Rome being built next door.
I think the granite guys did an oopsie, because there were three holes drilled in the granite for the Camerist Chrome faucet- it only needs two.  I think they had to upgrade our faucet because of this.
